Polish Energy Storage Association (PSME) and Polish Chamber of Electromobility Development (PIRE) signed a letter of intent

On January 27, 2021, PSME and PIRE, represented by Barbara Adamska, CEO of the Polish Energy Storage Association, prof. Wojciech Myślecki, Chairman of the Program Board of the Polish Energy Storage Association and Krzysztof Burda, President of the Management Board of the Polish Chamber of Electromobility Development signed a letter of intent.

Both associations have one goal in common – the promotion of environmentally friendly energy sources. Both organizations also recognize the importance of spreading the knowledge about RES and electromobility, educating the public to build awareness of the benefits from renewable energy sources and working on adapting legislative solutions to enable resilient development of solutions related to energy storage and electromobility.

The result of signing the letter is to develop, conclude and implement an agreement aimed at joint activities to promote energy storage, energy clusters and electromobility. – The transformation of the Polish energy sector and economy towards a low-emission one requires an increased share of RES in all sectors, including the transport sector. Energy storage can support ambitious electromobility development goals by stabilizing the operation of the electricity grid. Energy storages connected to high-powered charging stations allow the station to receive maximum power, even when the power connection is limited. Electric vehicles, in turn, are mobile, dispersed energy storage facilities, said Barbara Adamska, CEO of the Polish Energy Storage Association.

  • Electromobility is becoming more and more popular in Poland year by year. This is confirmed by significant increases in registered electric vehicles, and there are more and more charging stations. This is gratifying, but I am aware that we have a long way to go. The decarbonization of transport is one of the main actions that need to be implemented to achieve the desired climate neutrality goals. This applies to all vehicles, so soon we will see electric taxis, trucks and buses in our streets. Now is a good time to build the right conditions for their use, added Krzysztof Burda, CEO of the Polish Chamber of Electromobility Development.

Representatives of PSME and PIRE are sure that combining forces: knowledge, experience, competence and skills of teams is the best way to build the future of RES in Poland. – I am convinced that our cooperation will accelerate the development of modern energy sector, especially in self-governments, based on the best tools, which are undoubtedly electromobility and its infrastructure, RES and energy storage facilities, comments Krzysztof Burda, CEO of the Polish Chamber of Electromobility Development.

The signatories of the letter of intent aim at building the energy future of Poland based on the synergy of actions of various entities operating in the market, integration of scientific circles, business and local government units as well as education of the society and popularization of knowledge on RES, energy storage and electromobility.
